Welcome to the official website of critically acclaimed Australian
singer/songwriter Bob Pigott.
Bob first came to the attention of the music world in 2003 when his
track “Auntie Bonnie” took out the Folk Category of the ABC
Newcastle Music Awards, and the song featured on an ABC Compilation
Album, Saturday Night Country’s Hottest Hits.
In 2005 Bob took out the Country Category of the Awards with his
tune “Back Verandah”, a story about an ordinary bloke with
simple needs, which has been included on a soon to be released ABC
Album “Heartland” which includes Australian Country Music
greats Slim Dusty and John Williamson.
Bob has produced three independent CD’s, “Tempest”,
“Central Ave” and the latest "Wallaby Hill.
In 2006 Bob was selected as the winner of the prestigious and
coveted ABC Music Publishing/APRA Songwriters and Composers
Recognition Award which also led Bob to being signed by ABC
Music Publishing, with Bob’s gift for storytelling and his trademark
country/folk/roots style being added to the ABC’s catalogue of home
grown talent for soundtracks of Australian film and television.
Bob also had his tune “50 Years Ago” included on the 2007
Saturday Night Country’s Hottest Hits.
Bob blends
the mellow sounds of vocals, guitar and piano with story telling
about everyday living, warts and all. His attention to words sets
him apart from many country performers, but the honesty of the
lyrics come straight from the heart. |
